Oh What A Night!

Published August 16, 2023

Wyoming 211’s Lip Sync Battle 2023 did not disappoint! The local celebrities of Sheridan County brought the house down last Friday night. We laughed until we cried, danced until our feet hurt and lip synced our hearts out. We are so thankful for the Sheridan community and how well the event was received. Local mayors, a county commissioner and community leaders rallied around Wyoming 211 and helped raise over $7,000.

The night kicked off with a welcome dance to “I can’t stop this feeling” performed by Sabrina Lane, Casey Quinn and Olivia Schon from Wyoming 211. A portion of the evening focused on educating event guests on the recent happenings at Wyoming 211 and a paddle raise to help with unrestricted funding.

Then, it was on with the show! The performances started with “Getting Chippy”, a group of ladies from Advance Therapy. They performed “RESPECT” in glittery costumes and fabulous dance moves. Next up, was Ryan Landis and Erin Kranz from The Hub On Smith with a performance of “Shake It Off.” Both of them donned matching cheerleading costumes and used pom poms to take the night to the next level. The evening continued as the City of Ranchester Mayor Peter Clark, dressed as Uncle Sam, gave a fabulous performance of “I Want To Grow Up To Be A Politician”. He even had a “vote early, vote often” sign as a prop. Riding his stick pony as he entered the stage, County Commissioner Nick Siddle wowed the audience with “Mommas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys”. The crowd was mesmerized by his cowboy likeness. A city favorite for sure was Bev Leightnam and City of Sheridan Mayor Rich Bridger. Their dazzling duet of “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” brought the audience to their feet. And, we concluded the performances with the Women of Rotary, better known as “Guns n’ Rotary” and their jaw-dropping act of “Paradise City”. Hair was flying, hips were swinging and lips were synced.

Our panel of celebrity judges (Tim Barnes, Kim Wells and Sherriff Levi Dominguez} had the huge job of selecting the night’s winners. And, the coveted Wyoming 211 Lip Sync Battle 2023 “Best Lip Sync Award” went to Ryan Landis and Erin Kranz of The Hub on Smith! It was a fantastic night had by all! Where will we host next year’s Lip Sync Battle? We might have to select more than one battle location next year. From what we hear, Sheridan couldn’t get enough of this fun event. Thank you, again, Sheridan County for all the love towards Wyoming 211. See you next year!
