211 Day Creative 2 (2)

On National 211 Day, we honor the life enhancing services of the 211 call centers all across the country.

Wyoming 211 and Black Tooth Brewing Company are celebrating National 211 Day together!

On February 11th (211 Day), Black Tooth Brewing Company in Sheridan, Casper and Cheyenne will be donating $1 for every beer sold to Wyoming 211.  Join us for a brew on 2/11 from 2:11-11pm at any of the Black Tooth Brewing Company locations and learn more about our free and confidential information and referral service that connects Wyoming citizens to essential health and human services 24 hours a day.

National 211 Day is an annual event designed to help inform people across the nation about non-emergency health and human services information and referrals that are available by contacting 211.

Every year Wyoming 211 joins the celebration!

We have been honored to have had this day recognized by Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, who signed a proclamation declaring February 11th as "211 Day".

As COVID-19 deaths decline, the economic fallout from the pandemic continues to hit low-income workers, people of color, and those without a college degrees the hardest.

One in four adults have had trouble paying bills, especially rent or mortgage payments.

One in six have borrowed money from friends or received staple items from a food bank. And 211, the go-to information resource in the U.S. and Canada, fielded more than double its normal calls, mostly for help with housing, utilities and food. At the same time, community services have been strained, unable to meet demand.

The past three years have shown how fragile Wyoming’s social safety net can be. But you can help fix that. A gift to Wyoming 211 connects people in need to tailored resources, as well as helping to improve the entire system.

When someone calls 211 for help, they aren’t just “patched through” to agencies. They can connect to a real person, who from that first "hello" guides the caller to the help they need. 211 specialists are trained to identify and address root causes of a client’s problem and connect them with a wide range of resources that meet all their underlying needs - not just the one that prompted the call, text, or email - but everything.

That means 211 doesn't just improve the help people receive, it changes lives.

211 helps the social service ecosystem run more efficiently,

ensuring that people in need are connected to agencies that can help them in the right way.

Using 211 data, local United Way organizations, community action agencies and community leaders can better identify where resources should be invested to solve persistent challenges.

No other program has its “finger on the pulse” of Wyoming’s greatest needs like Wyoming 211 does.

By supporting Wyoming 211, you can help address the local challenges that threaten people’s livelihoods and well-being, both in your local community and across the whole network.
