Veterans Resources
Wyoming is home to over 47,000 veterans across an area of nearly 98,000 square miles.
The highly rural setting presents unique challenges to providing healthcare for veterans, often located far from any major population centers. The Department of Health recognizes that many rural veterans in Wyoming have difficulty accessing healthcare. To address these concerns, the Department of Health, Office of Rural Health has partnered with Infield Vector and Wyoming 211 to implement the Rural Veterans Health Access Program (RVHAP).
This toolkit is designed to be a resource for healthcare providers attending to veterans at their clinics. It is intended to provide tools and information for working with the VA, understanding veteran culture, and telehealth implementation.
