Wyoming 211 is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) and is governed by an outstanding Board of Directors representing different communities throughout the great state of Wyoming. It is important for us to have a pulse on the health and human resources and needs in Wyoming and our Board of Directors are working diligently to help us in this endeavor. This year, we added four new board members with a variety of perspectives and skills and would like to take this opportunity to introduce them to you.
Richard Garrett resides in Laramie County and is owner of and consultant with Garrett & Associates, LLC. He shares his “why” for joining the board — “There are two reasons for why I joined the board. First, Wyoming 211 is a well-respected, effective organization providing information about and access to much-needed resources. And second, because through the process of evaluation and recruitment, I came to know the staff and board as highly dedicated and professional people.” Given Richard’s experience in government relations, he hopes to further strengthen Wyoming 211’s relationships with agencies, legislators and elected officials. “I am excited to help tell the story of Wyoming 211 and encourage everyone to share what we do to make Wyoming a better place.”
Living in Campbell County, Ronda Boller is the owner & operator of TenderCare, LLC. Operating an in-home care business for elderly and disabled persons, Ronda sees the value in having a service like 211. “I utilize it for work all the time. I just give Tammy (Wyoming 211’s Aging & Disability Resource Center Navigator) a call and she knows just what resources are available for the clients I am needing help for.” Ronda is passionate about the important work we are doing and her goal is to “get the word out about Wyoming 211 to everyone in the state. This is such a great resource that everyone should know about!”
Jim Hutchison lives in Fremont County and is a Physician Assistant with the Lander Medical Clinic. “As a PA in Primary Care, I recognize that my patients’ needs often reach beyond the medical care in clinic. Wyoming 211 fills vital gaps in my patients’ lives and promotes their health. I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors at Wyoming 211. I look forward to increased integration of statewide patient resources with local medical services.“
President & General Manager of Townsquare Media Casper, Tom McCarthy, is a resident of Natrona County. “While I am comfortable now, there have been times in my life when social services were at times necessary to keep the lights on and food on the table. Even with the modern internet, it is hard to know where to start, especially when the need is urgent, and unexpected. By making resources more accessible to the public, Wyoming 211 is removing obstacles and providing relief to those in need in Wyoming’s local communities. This is important work. Looking to have an impact while serving on the board, Tom says, “With my experience in marketing, I hope to bring new insights to the board and organization that will help to increase awareness and visibility around the state.”
We are thrilled to work with our new and existing board members and are looking forward to accomplishing so many wonderful things together.
